Independent Yacht Advisory

The cost of a poor purchase, a rushed handover or a badly timed passage usually becomes visible only after the decision has been made. That is when independent advice has the greatest value.

Typical situations include considering a yacht before purchase, taking on a yacht after purchase, weighing readiness for a season or a major passage, preparing for handover, working through route and timing decisions, sense-checking crew or coordination questions, and seeking a second opinion on advice already received. Sailing yachts, catamarans and motor yachts.

Good advice does not push the owner toward a decision. It creates room to make the right one. We look at the yacht, the timing, the parties involved and the practical risks, then separate the issues that matter from those that can wait. The owner can proceed, renegotiate, delay or walk away with a clearer view.

Owner's Representation

There are stages of yacht ownership where absence should not mean loss of control. When important steps continue without the owner being present, clear representation becomes valuable.

Typical situations include handover periods, yard periods, preparation ahead of a season or passage, and any stage where several parties are involved while the owner cannot be there directly. Where appointed, Daniel represents the owner's interests throughout the assignment, helping keep communication, timing and practical follow-through on track.

The aim is straightforward: clearer coordination, fewer surprises, and a reliable point of contact acting in the owner's interests when it matters.

Yacht Transfer, Delivery and Handover

When a yacht needs to be moved, repositioned, taken over or handed over, the work starts well before the lines come off and ends only when the handover is properly closed. Anything less usually shows up later in delay, friction or avoidable cost for the owner.

Each engagement is taken on selectively. Route planning and weather windows, crew composition, fuel and provisioning, marina and clearance coordination, calm communication during the passage and a structured documented handover at destination. The aim is a yacht that arrives properly prepared for handover, with clear communication and a standard the owner can rely on.

Engagements are taken on in limited numbers each season across sailing yachts, catamarans and motor yachts. The same care runs through the advisory work.

Engagement

How engagements begin

Every engagement begins with a direct conversation about the yacht, the situation and the owner's priorities.

From there, the next step is scoped according to what is actually needed — whether advisory support, owner's representation, or yacht transfer, delivery and handover.

Owners weighing fit, scope or timing on an upcoming yacht decision are welcome to get in touch.
